About the brand...
A third generation seamstress and designer, Sakinah B credits her mother and late grandmother for her immediate interest in designing and creating garments… About 15 years ago Eyani Couture was born when Sakinah realized that there were not many clothing options to fit her curvy physique or elegant taste. Though she was known for her custom designs and prom dresses Sakinah decided to create a stylish clothing line focusing on the curvy woman in 2011.
A mother of five, full time city employee, designer & boutique owner. Sakinah B is one of Newark New Jersey’s most known fashion designers. She has come through the ranks of emerging designers to where she has today forged and consolidated her place in the plus size fashion industry. She’s has traveled internationally showcasing her collections in London in late 2014 and will also showcase in Paris in Spring 2016.
Sakinah continues to create new original trendsetting designs daily... With the launch of her 2016-2017 collection at Full Figured Fashion Week, she aims to widen her field markets, pursue wholesaling and provide greater accessibility for her clientele. She says "the 2016-2017 collection is geared at the confident classy and curvy women with international style… As always every garment is made to compliment & accentuate the curves and beauty of the fuller figured woman. The vibrant colors and timeless styles represented in this collection range from classy & conservative suits to head-turning dresses & gowns."
